Notification of works
Marine Parade Seacliff
January - February 2025
What we’re doing
We're undergrounding a small section of overhead powerline between 49 and 57 Marine Parade, Seacliff. Two temporary poles will be installed in the road reserve set in concrete blocks in front of the boundary between 47-49, and at 57 Marine Parade before replacing the existing Stobie poles in the original locations. Poles in front of number 53 and on the boundary of 54A-56 Marine Parade will be permanently removed along with the overhead powerlines.
For public safety, the temporary poles will be surrounded by fencing.
We'll be installing a new service pit in 56 Marine Parade adjacent the fence at 54A for the new underground connection to these properties (the lid will be flush with ground level), and a fused pillar (a knee-high box) inside the boundary of 53 Marine Parade. Finally, we'll be installing a new public lighting column in front of 53 Marine Parade to replace the LED light that is currently connected to the Stobie pole which will be permanently removed.
What this means for locals
There will be some noise and dust impacts from trenching and heavy vehicles. Crews and third-party contractors will do their best to keep these to a minimum.
Customers at 51, 54, 54A & 56 will have new underground consumer wiring to the meter board from the new service pits. The private electrical contractor will engage with those affected regarding access and will provide electrical compliance certificates on completion.
No off-street parking on the following days
As Marine Parade is very narrow and we will be using heavy vehicles, there will be no off-street parking between Ozone Parade and Wheatland Street. The road will be closed or restricted between Wheatland Street and 71 Marine Parade between 7.30am and 4pm on the following days:
January
- Thursday 16 January
- Wednesday 22 January
February
- Thursday 6 February
- Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 February
A final date to be confirmed once customers have been connected to the new underground services.
Some customers will experience power outages on these dates apart from Thursday 13 – Friday 14 February. We will notify those affected in advance.
The civil contractors or traffic controllers will let residents know if their help is needed to keep work zones clear. Road plates will enable residents to continue using their driveways.
