Notification of works

Foggo Road to Field Street, McLaren Flat

October 2023 - January 2024

What we are doing

We are upgrading the power supply from the McLaren Flat substation, improving the power reliability and meeting the electricity demand for customers in the local area.

The project will be carried out in two stages, each involving civil excavation and electrical upgrades.

How this affects you

Work will begin from Tuesday 3 October 2023 and continue until the end January 2023.

Construction activities will generally take place between 8am and 5pm. These works are scheduled to occur Monday to Friday each week.

Stage 1 Oct - Nov involves the civil works including installation of new underground cable coverings and pole foundations.

Stage 2 Nov – Jan involves replacement of existing powerlines, poles and installation of new underground cables from the McLaren Flat Substation. Our team will commence pole changeovers, and installation of new cables and powerlines on Chalk Hill Road and work progressively towards Field Street.

Work hours and project dates may vary slightly due to weather, or other events outside of our control.

Traffic management including lane closures will be in place around our worksite, with detours in place. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout our activities. Residents and businesses directly adjacent to our worksite will be contacted in advance to discuss any concerns or requirements.

Speed, and parking, restrictions will be in place in the vicinity of the works to ensure safety for community members and our work crews.

Power outages

We expect power interruptions will be necessary during Stage 2 work; and we encourage anyone with a National Meter Identifier (NMI) on their electricity bill to subscribe for free notification of power outages and future events. Please call us if you need help with this process.

Noise

There will be noise and vibration, and possible dust, associated with the work including from excavation equipment and other heavy machinery and vehicles.

Our crews will minimise disruption as much as possible.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation during this essential work.
