Cyber Security Operations Manager receives global award
We work very hard to keep customer data and our systems protected in the real world and in Cyber Space. It is always great to have these efforts recognised.
Our threat-led approach to cyber security was recognised globally when our Cyber Security Operations Manager Lindbergh Caldeira recently won the Thought Leadership: Cybersecurity Trailblazer award at the global AttackIQ Purple Hats Customer Awards.
The Purple Hats Customer Awards celebrate AttackIQ customers and community members from around the world who put threat-informed defense into practice and make a difference in the cybersecurity community.

Lindbergh received the award at the 2023 AttackIQ Purple Hats conference, held on Thursday 6 April.
“I’m humbled to have been recognised and awarded this year’s Thought Leadership award,” he said. “Modernising our security operations capability (SOC) operations towards a threat-led approach has been our goal at SA Power Networks over the last few years and I am proud of our team’s achievements. Well done team! And of course, thanks to our Head of Cyber Security and IT Resilience, Nathan Morelli for his support.”
The Thought Leadership Award: Cybersecurity Trailblazer award recognises an innovative cybersecurity leader (CTO, CISO or VP-level) who has delivered a threat-informed defense strategy in their company and across the community through publications, speaking at industry events, or by making other public contributions to help further the practice of a threat-informed defense.
Previously, SA Power Networks has been a finalist in this award, with our Head of Cyber Security and IT Resilience being one of three finalists last year. As well as winning the award, Lindbergh was a speaker at the AttackIQ Purple Hats virtual conference. His presentation – Lessons from the trenches: Building a threat-led security operations capability (SOC) – shared key insights into our SOC uplift story and provided actionable takeaways that can be easily adopted.
“I was honoured to be sharing the virtual stage with some amazing speakers and learning from their experiences, as well,” he said.
Each year, the virtual conference sees thousands of cybersecurity practitioners around the world collaborate, share ideas, and learn how to evolve from a reactive to proactive threat-informed defense.
“The conference was a goldmine of information, and it was good to hear insights from global industry peers on innovative methods they have developed to detect and respond to adversaries. After all, for us to stay on par with highly resourced and coordinated adversary groups, we need to collaborate frequently and share intel and ideas.”
