In 1998, the Crows won their second flag in a row; the Google search engine was founded; and Caprice Davey joined SA Power Networks as one of our first female engineers. Twenty-five years later, she is a senior leader in our Network management team and pioneered a pathway that has seen the intake of female engineers significantly increase.

Caprice spoke at a recent celebration, recognising a group of our people who were inducted into the 25-year club.

Reminiscing on her time within the business over the past quarter of a century, she said one of the standouts has been technology, noting how the growth in the number of solar panels in our State – now means that where we were once worried about too much demand, we are now worried about minimum demand.

“The profound changes that have shaped our organisation: the growth of technological advancements, customer focus, and increased diversity have propelled us forward,” Caprice said.

“We also recognise certain aspects that remain unchanged – our unwavering commitment to safety, the strength of our people and culture, and our pride in providing an essential service. These define who we are.”

Caprice concluded her speech by telling everyone that, at the end of it all, the organisation is characterised by a friendly, positive, and genuine enjoyment of being a part of the exciting future at SA Power Networks.

While we celebrate those reaching the momentous 25 years of service, employees from around the business have reached other significant milestones of 35, 45, and 50+ years. To see people stick around for a quarter of a century or more, means we must be doing something right!
