Smarter Homes PV curtailment systems test

Residential Rooftop Solar news hero 905 x 428

SA Power Networks is undertaking work in our commitment to the energy transition for South Australia. Today, we are conducting intentional testing of the Smarter Homes PV curtailment systems.

This is a crucial part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the system's robustness and reliability, as we continue to integrate renewable energy sources into our network.

During this testing, customers with rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems connected after 2020 (including Flexible Exports systems) may experience a temporary impact on their solar power generation for one hour during daylight hours. We understand the importance of solar energy to our customers and the environment, and we have taken all necessary steps to minimise the duration of this impact.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work towards enhancing the stability and efficiency of the network, including this emergency capability. Our New Energy Services team will be available to respond to any queries you may have.
