As Christmas approaches, many South Australians look forward to joyful gatherings, but for thousands, this time of year brings uncertainty. That's where OzHarvest SA comes in-and why SA Power Networks and its Employee Foundation are stepping up to help.

OzHarvest SA has a simple yet powerful mission: rescue surplus food and get it to those who need it most. Every day, they bridge the gap between excess and scarcity, ensuring perfectly good food doesn’t go to waste while those facing tough times have a meal on the table.

Recently, our CEO Andrew Bills handed over a $10,000 donation to OzHarvest SA, enough to provide 20,000 meals for South Australians doing it tough. Reflecting on the power of community and kindness during the festive season:

“I am so proud that as an organisation, we can come together to support meaningful initiatives like this. It’s also a great opportunity to reflect on how fortunate many of us are, especially in the lead-up to Christmas” said Andrew Bills.

For OzHarvest’s Rachel Hibble and Bel Symons, the donation means more than numbers on a cheque. It means meals shared, families supported, and hope delivered to people during their toughest moments. OzHarvest’s work shows how small actions—like saving food that would otherwise go to waste—can create a huge impact.

This Christmas, as tables are filled across South Australia, 20,000 meals will bring comfort and hope to those in need—thanks to the tireless efforts of OzHarvest SA and the generosity of SA Power Networks and its Employee Foundation.
