The revitalisation of the Station Master's House in Tailem Bend is an exciting project led by the Tailem Bend Community Centre and supported by an SA Power Networks Community Grant.

The Tailem Bend Community Centre has long been a cornerstone for community collaboration, providing a welcoming space for people to come together, share resources, and enrich their lives.

Their mission to expand involved redeveloping the old Station Master site in Tailem Bend into a hub for both cultural and community engagement, which includes a community garden and food security enterprise.

Our grant helped fund a key feature of the project - Pinar, the "talking tree.”

Pinar creatively and interactively shares the cultural heritage of the Ngarrindjeri people while highlighting the beauty of the Murray River, Lakes, and Coorong region.

This innovative project blends storytelling, tourism, and local economic growth, making a significant impact on the community.

We are excited to see how this space continues to grow and enrich the lives of everyone in the region and beyond!
