Adelaide, get ready! SA Power Networks is teaming up with Empowered Women in Trades (EWIT) to offer an exciting one-day event in June. If you're curious about a career in the power industry, this is your chance to go behind the scenes and learn all about our apprenticeship program. 

What to expect

This isn't just a presentation – it's an immersive experience! You'll get a real taste of what a day in the life of an apprentice could be. Here's a sneak peek: 

• Introduction to the trades: EWIT will kick off the day with a session designed to build your confidence and get you ready for hands-on activities. 
• Hands-on activities: 
  • Get harnessed up and climb a Stobie pole to experience working at heights. 
  • Go up in an Elevated Work Platform (EWP).
  • Wire a junction box. 
• Training Centre tour: Explore our training facilities and see where your apprenticeship journey would begin. 
• Equipment showcase: See the tools and equipment our line workers use every day. 
• Apprentice Q&A: Chat with current apprentices and trades workers to hear firsthand what the program is like and what a typical day involves. This is your chance to ask any questions and get honest answers!
