Our network is critical to decarbonising energy, connecting South Australians to cheap solar and wind power. It also has a significant role in community safety and important interaction with other community objectives such as greening our State.
We have a legislated responsibility to ensure reliable power supply and keep our community safe from bushfire. We also have a commitment to delivering energy affordably for our customers while supporting our State’s exciting green energy transition.
Today, electricity consumers are paying a significant bill to manage trees growing near and under powerlines. By planting the right tree in the right place today, we will avoid unnecessary costs, positively impact the cost of living and help minimise the risk of power outages and bushfire.
That’s why we are actively working with stakeholders in the development of plans for Greening Adelaide that are sympathetic to the goals of a greener, decarbonised city and State and which help keep our community safe.
Tree trimming program
In consultation with local councils we make sure vegetation is kept clear of public powerlines. Learn about our tree trimming program.
