Yorke Peninsula Power Outage – Compensation & Claims Information

We understand the power outage on the Yorke Peninsula, which began on 14 March, has been a difficult experience for many customers. This outage was caused by an issue with ElectraNet’s transmission network, which is not covered by our claims scheme.

If you or your business has been impacted, we recommend contacting your private insurer to discuss potential coverage.

Guaranteed Service Level (GSL) payments do not apply in this instance, as GSLs do not cover transmission-related outages.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Make a claim

If you have experienced a power outage of 20 or more hours, or more than nine extended outages in the financial year, you may be eligible for a Guaranteed Service Level (GSL) payment. These payments are generated automatically and you do not need to apply for these. Please refer to the Guaranteed Service Level payment - SA Power Networks for further information.

If your property has been damaged following a power outage or fault with your supply, you may be able to seek compensation.

We can provide a letter confirming power outages to support a claim to your private insurer. Choose from the options below to find out more.
