What is Voltage Variation
The Small Claims Scheme is applicable for certain types of voltage variations caused by failures in our electricity infrastructure, excluding incidents like natural events, third-party damages, or contact with fauna or flora.

Voltage Variation explained
- Greater than (>) 10 seconds of variation outside this range: 198v to 260v
- Variations for (<=) 10 seconds or less above the following
- Phase to earth = 345v (single phase devices)
- Phase to phase = 480v (three phase devices)
- Impulse is referring to very high-speed short duration spikes in voltages lasting microseconds (akin to a lightning strike). Impulse voltages outside of the range of 0 to 6kV.
